      FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Newborn Photography (under 2 weeks old)
      Baby Photography (7-10 months old)
When should my newborn be photographed?

All of my newborns are photographed at around one week of age (ideally between days 6-10) in order to get the very best out of your session, and to achieve the results you see in my portfolio. Any parent will tell you how quickly your little ones will grow in those first couple of weeks, so it's essential that we capture them as early as we can.

How long does a newborn session go for?

I always take my time with newborns. I will never rush a session and take as much time as we need, allowing your baby to be my guide. Newborn sessions can typically therefore take hours to complete. My aim is to have you feeling completely relaxed and enjoy every moment of your session without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. Newborn sessions (6-10 days old) tend to average 180 minutes.

When should I book a newborn session?

In order to make sure that you secure a booking for your newborn (my newborns are photographed at one week of age), it is very important to contact me to reserve a date while you are still pregnant. As I typically book up months in advance, please book in early to avoid disappointment.

Where is the newborn photography session held?

I am a natural light photographer and my natural light studio is located only 20-25 minutes West of the Westgate Bridge in Melbourne, and the images you see in my galleries are reflective of this setting.

      What is your style?

Babies are infinitely giving and authentic. They are soulful, vulnerable, honest and pure – my aim during sessions is to connect with those qualities in each and every baby I have the pleasure to capture. For that reason, I am totally baby-led during my sessions. Your baby is my guide. A session is more than simply taking photos of what I see. I want to create beautiful images from what I feel.

When should my baby be photographed?

Babies are best photographed when they are sitting independently, but are not yet crawling. This is typically anywhere between 7-10 months of age on average, but can vary with each child.

When should I book a baby session?

When your baby has started to sit independently, this is the best time to book! In advance, we won't know exactly when your little one will reach this stage, so you will be the best placed to monitor this and call in when the time is right for you!

How long does a baby session go for?

Baby sessions tend to average 60-90 minutes.

      What is your style?

My style has been described as clean, simple and organic. I prefer not to over-clutter or over-accessorise. The one tangible theme that I work with across every session I do is that it is all about the baby. For that reason, my styling remains minimalistic, modern and fresh. Clothing choices for babies remain simplistic, and I would be happy to talk through any other styling considerations in detail prior to your session.
